Seal Team Seven 12: Tropical Terror Review

I've been reading Keith Douglass's books since his first SEAL Team Seven novel and in my opinion, they have progressively strayed from a spec ops force to a more spray-n-pray team. He tends to have his team dropped in with some of the most obscure gear (i.e. the Bullpup) and takes away from the clandestine, silent professionals that SEALs are. I would suggest he go back to the originals and start from there. Keep it more realistic in ops planning and equipment, and slow the pace down and increase the intensity of the operations they perform. Take some time to show the teams different abilities and their talents as Naval Special Warfare personnel. These guys are more like Rambo laying down a field of lead instead of the precision SEALs are known for. Give them the gear the typically use - body armor, MP-5s, M-4s, balaclavas, etc. Drop the futuristic weaponry like the EAR or the Bullpup. It takes away from the fun and authenticity.

The team must stop nuclear weapons from being sent off. Lots of action in different places plus the return of lady nuclear specalist Kat Garnet. A great story with a wonderful subplot as it shows the inner turmoil a SEAL must feel when confronted with what he does.

SEAL Team Seven readers will enjoy this fast paced addition to the series. The action starts on page one and doesn't let up throughout the book. There are some assumptions that you know who all the main characters are - but even if you don't you'll catch up... if you can keep up. A serious situation splits into two sits then four and so on... Very enjoyable.

Seal Team Seven #15: Ambush Review

Seal Team Seven (15) Ambush has to be in the top three best in this series. From start to finish, I could not put it down. The only thing I didn't like is the death of one of my favorite characters. I will not reveal who that was so I do not ruin the book for those who have not read it yet. At least the new Master Chief is good addition. Navy Seals are a cold, calculated
group of men. These books do them justice.

I've just finished reading this book. This is great read. WOW! It kept me reading from cover to cover and I couldn't put it down. The author should have this book made into a action pack movie. Seriously. Couldn't you see an actor like Harrison Ford, playing the lead role as Lieutenant Commander Blake Murdock? Or even, Jason O'Mara (The Agency) who also played in Band of Brothers as Lt. Thomas Meehan? How about actor, Wilem Dafoe, playing the role of David "Jaybird" Sterling, Machinist's Mate First Class Lead Petty Officer, who has a quick mind and is a fine tactician-he would be great in this role. Or, how about making this book and some of the others in this series into a TV miniseries? I've just purchase the Ambush and just now getting into Payback. These books are great and now I want to order the rest in the Seal Team Seven series.
